Steven has been
a financial consultant helping trucking companies raise capital, improve financial
management and execute business strategies since 2001. He has been a workshop speaker
at both the ATA and TCA annual conventions as well as being routinely quoted in
various industry publications, including Transport Topics.
Steven spent thirty years in financial management with public and private
companies and as a Certified Public Accountant. From 1986 to 2001, he worked with
KLLM Transport Services in Jackson, Mississippi, where he helped manage the company's
revenues from $50 million to $236 million. His positions included serving as senior
vice president and chief financial officer. KLLM raised capital through an initial
public offering in 1986, various private debt placements, a secondary public stock
offering in 1993, and several syndicated debt facilities and equipment leases. In
response to a hostile takeover attempt, Steven managed KLLM's successful transition
from public company back to being privately-held.
Steven has a B.S. in Accounting with Special Honors from Mississippi State University.
